Did you get a scan sorted? It does not sound as if you have any reason not to have contrast at CT, so that would be an option. Unfortunately it won't be able to pick up as many cases of acoustic neuroma as a contrast MRI, but it can deteced less subtle lesions. However, a defib is a contraindication to MRI scanning.
