Question
Im 14 Years Old And I Have An Addution In NewYork City. Do U Think Im To Old To Start An Acting Carrer

Answer
Hi Kaylee...Thanks for writing.

I think you are old enough to audition.  I would say that it would be very important for you to have some adult support though.  You are very young.  Having a career at a young age changes a young person's life very much.  Child stars find themselves really missing being a kid when they start so young.  There are many obligations to meet when you are as young as you are.

So, do you have parents or grandparents or a close adult friend that can walk this journey with you and help you?  That would be what I recommend most.

Being in shows at your age is not a bad thing though. What kinds of shows and how the rehearsal schedule works are things to consider greatly especially for you.  A community theatre schedule may be best for you right now.  School needs to be first.  If your studies are a priority and you are still able to then that is good.  And if you are still able to spend time with family first and friends second, that is key as well.

Don't give these things up.  Talk with someone that is an adult in your life about how to make this work and not sacrifice your relationships or your future.  That's super important.

Does that help you?
