Question I am a mezzo soprano auditioning for The Pajama Game...there are two main characters that fit my age/vocal profile.(36 yr)...what should I wear to the audition...would 'Heart' by the same composer be an appropriate song (if not, please offer suggestions) and could you give me a short character analysis of the two female roles I am auditioning for? (Babe or Mr. Hasler's secretary)
Answer Hi Auditioner!!
First off, I have to tell you that I have never heard of the play you are going to audition for.
For character analyses, I go to www.stageagent.com and the website will list character descriptions.
In an audition, auditioning a song that is from the show or by the same composer within a show is not recommended.
Might I recommend a beautiful version of "Danny Boy"--it makes directors cry if done properly :).
Sorry I couldn't be of more help! Good luck at your audition!
