Expert: Paul B. Crook Date: 4/26/2008 Subject: auditioning for HONK! Which song?
Question Hello.
I really need some help. I'm auditioning fo rthe musical HONK! in a few
weeks, and I have no idea what to sing for auditions. I'm a soprano, and I've
been doing theatre for 14 years (you'd think I'd know a good song). I'm
auditioning for Ida, Queenie, or really any role. I would like a piece that isn't
extremely common, and matches the style of the show, which is pretty
upbeat.
Thanks!
Tally
Answer Hi, Tally!
I wold recommend you look at "Impossible! It's Possible!" from Rodgers and Hammerstein's CINDERELLA. Directors typically like to see actors singing work by the "classic" composers and CINDERELLA is (surprisingly) still not a particularly well-known R & H show.
