Question I am going to do a acting competition, doing a solo musical piece. I am looking for a song from a musical I could preform. I am a 17 year old tenor, and have a pretty good belting voice, even on some higher notes. I can also sing baritone, and some bass, but preferably tenor or baritone. I also am a dancer, so I can do a tap or jazz dancing number. Last year I did All I Need Is The Girl from Gyspy, so that might give you an idea of what my range is. Any help is appreciated. Thank you!
Answer Hi, Brent!
If you are looking for something that allows you to belt, you might look at "I Love to Cry at Weddings" from SWEET CHARITY. If you want more of a down-tempo song that allows you to act more during it, then I would suggest "Tomorrow Belongs to Me" from CABARET.
