AnswerHi Haley...And thanks for writing.
Congrats on the audition! I hope it goes very well for you.
The best way to decide on music is to determine your range. Then go to the library and find and listen to songs in your range until you find one that peeks your interest and that you also like and something that you can relate to and something that is going to show what you can do but is not so hard that you will be really challenged to get it ready. Then prepare with it.
You may already have a few songs that you have done previously. If so, then choose one of them - if you like it, if you can relate to it and if it will show what you can do.
I'm sorry that I cannot be more of help to you. But it really comes down to me knowing you more personally. Obviously, with this kind of coaching, there is no way for me to do that.
So if you know of a song that you like, choose it and just go for it.
As for the dancing, my expertise is not in dancing. However, I think the best way to handle dancing is to also take a simple approach. Once you have your song, choose steps and movement that you enjoy to go with the music. As long as the dance is well done, I think that that is going to be most important.
Does that help at all?
