Questionhey! im a tenor-baritone at my school's choir. we are regarded as one of the best choirs in the east part of the USA. every year we have to sing a solo in front of the class. it has to be a musical theater song and i dont know what to sing!! in the past ive done songs from Camelot, The Fantaskics, and Cinderella. i want to do something that speaks about love or friendship or both! something that has a deep message about love! and of course something that fits my age gropu or close to it. im 18 years old at the time. thank you very much for your help!!
Musically yours,

AnswerHi there, Walter...And thanks for writing.
Well, there are couple of ways you can find the song you want. First of all, since you belong to a choir, you could talk to your choir instructor or teacher about your desire to see if they know any. Another way is to Google musical theatre songs about love or friendship. And another is to go to the library and look under the tenor-baritone section of musical songs and see if you can find one on love or friendship either by searching the catalogue at the library or by listening to songs.
I really cannot give you a song that will work for you based on what you tell me. I wish I could. However, I do not know you nor do I know your experience on the stage. It is better for someone who knows you like your instructor to help you with this question or for you to do some search on your own.
What's key is that you really like the song and that you identify with it.
Does that help you?
