Hi my name is Maya, I am applying to universities in Toronto, Canada for Theatre. I am required to have one dramatic classical monologue (Shakespeare is preferred) and one comic contemporary monologue (preferred from Canadian plays) prepared. I have looked at many websites but cannot find one that is comic and gives a lot to work with. I need the monologues urgently since my audition is getting closer. I am looking forward to your reply. Hi there, Maya...And thanks for writing.  

Congrats on your application to university.  

For monologues, it's best if you go to a library to look.  Use their computer system to find something related to what you are looking for.  Read lots.  And just make a choice and do the best you can with it.  

There are some Canadian monologue books out there that are ok.  Take a look at those and you should find something that will work for you.
