Expert: Wanda Reinholdt - 5/20/2009

Question
I am a 15 year old soprano 1.  I am going to audition for Fiddler on the Roof for my school, but I can not find a good audition song.  I am hoping to get the role of either Hodel or Chava.  What do think would be a good song to sing?  Thank you for you answer!
P.S. We can not sing anything from Fiddler on the Roof

Congrats on the audition!  

I would go to the library and listen to soprano musical songs that are categorized as soprano.  It will take some time but if you are patient and listen for a while, you will probably find one that you like and also that you can relate to - both are very important.  

Then do your best to prepare it.

That's the best I can do for you without hearing you, seeing you and also knowing you better.  

It is a good exercise to look at other music though.  It can be very enjoyable if you give yourself the time to do it.
