Acting in Plays, Singing/Fiddler on the Roof Audition
Expert: Wanda Reinholdt - 7/30/2009
QuestionQUESTION: I am a 15 year old middle-upper soprano. I am going to audition for my schools musical "Fiddler on the Roof". I was hoping on getting the part of Hodel or Chava. I was planning on singing "I Could Have Danced All Night" from My Fair Lady, but now I am not so sure it is a good idea. Is "I Could Have Danced All Night" a good audition song for the part I am hoping to get? If not do you have any other suggestions?
ANSWER: Hi there, Sarah...
Could I ask you to help me out? Our system seems to be doing some weird stuff. Would you let me know by writing back if you got an answer to your question or not? That would be very helpful.
If you did not, I will answer it once I hear from you.

AnswerHi there, Sarah...Sorry about the inconvenience. Thanks for answering my question. Now let me see if I can help you...
Congrats on your audition, BTW. That is great.
Some questions to help you sort through this:
1. What do you like the song you have chosen?
2. How does this song show what you can do with your voice?
3. How can you relate to this song?
If you can list at least 2-3 things for each of these questions, then it is a good choice.
Just prepare well and go for it!
Does that help you?
