Acting in Plays, Singing/"Performance internship" audition

Question
Hello and thanks in advance for your help,

I might have an audition this weekend at a local professional theatre for a "performance internship." They are requiring us to prepare a song. I'm somewhat at a loss just cause I'm used to picking songs tailored to the particular production for which I'm auditioning. I'm curious as to what would work as standards or songs that suggest versatility for a baritone in his early 20s. Many of the songs that come to mind as ones I sing well aren't in my age range or are general audition no-nos (Sondheim, Les Mis, or Rent, etc).

I was considering one of Charlie Brown's songs or perhaps one of Seymour's from LSoH....just cause of the age range.  What do you think?

Answer
Hi there, Ken...And thanks for writing.

I think that from what you are describing that you will find a song in either Charlie Brown or LSoH.  Try them and see what happens.

I know that is not much to go on but I think that your gut is telling you a good direction to go.

Does that help?
