Hello, I'm auditioning for the role of Anita in West Side Story. Theater is my passion, and I believe I have the singing/dancing/acting abilities for the role. I have a song, but I don't know a good enough monologue. Do you perhaps know any good monologues with characters similar to Anita. The character doesn't have to be Puerto Rican, and if you could just even give me the name of the play and character, it would be a big help. Thanks in advance!

Congrats for the audition!

I am concerned that you are looking for a similar character.  I think that if you do a dramatic monologue really well, that that would be good enough.  

What does the audition say?  What are the requirements for the audition?  What are they looking for?  You may be interested in Anita but you may be better for another character.  

The key is to pick and monologue and do your best at it.
