Question Hello, awhile ago I posted a question about classical acting and if you had any recommendations on what college I could go to. Well I found one that I would really love to attend, It's the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and for the audition requires a Elizabethan/Jacobean monologue as well as a contemporary one. I think I'm good with the contemporary monologue but I would really like to know the classical playwrights so I can start reading their plays. This is the link to the audition requirements http://www.rada.org/rada_files/pdfs/prospectus2011_web[1].pdf
P.S As to your concern about becoming an actor for the right reason I all can say is that I want to be an artist, not a celebrity.
Answer Christopher,
I'm not sure what your question is to me here. Do you need advice as to what you should be reading? The RADA prospectus provides you with all the information about what playwrights you should consider. Start with Shakespeare.
I hold a Masters` Degree in Theatre History and Dramatic Literature - I can help with any question on non-Musical theatre, including acting technique, dramatic literature, theatre history, etc.
Please note - I do not answer questions regarding song choices for musical theatre auditions.
