Please watch 'Mommy, I miss you'.. And tell me what you think.

Answer
Hi there, Julia...And thanks for writing.

And thanks for sharing your music and your song.  You are brave and courageous and I commend you for putting yourself out there.

I liked the song.  The words and tune were interesting and different.  It suited your voice.  I thought it was good.  I thought it was intriguing.  I did want to listen.

What I would like to recommend is that you take a look at your video and tell me what you see.  Do you see someone who looks like they are really engaged in their singing?  Do you see someone who is really full of energy and life?   Is this person really glad to be singing and sharing this song and story?   How would you describe what you see?

There is a lot of potential here, Julia.  It is essential though that you learn how to perform, how to really be the song and be the story.  On this video, it just felt like a sad person singing.  You did not seem to care much.   What is this song about?  What is the point of the song?  Why share it?  THAT is what I want to see on the video.  Even if you are sitting and playing your guitar as you are in this video, your energy and your face can be engaging and active.  Tell the story with the song.

Does that help you?
