Question
Hi!  I'm directing a musical theater ensemble for 8 to 12-year-olds and need a fantastic, high energy number to blow an audience away!  I like the feel of "Don't Nobody Bring Me No Bad News" from The Wiz (performed as an enemble number), but feel like there must be a better song out there.  It needs to be something the kids can really dance and move to.  Any suggestions?

Thank you for the question.

"Don't Nobody Bring Me No Bad News" from THE WIZ is a good choice. Whatever the choice, including numbers that have solos, you can always reprise a melody to add another dance variation for the ensemble. Also consider any of the following:
