Acting in Plays, Singing/Audition Song for Peter Pan
Expert: Sean Martinfield - 8/21/2011
QuestionI'm am auditioning for Peter Pan and really hope to get the part of Wendy. The problem is that I am having a hard time finding a song that displays her character in me. Do you have any song suggestions that would help me land the part? Thank you.
Answer
Hi, Corrina –
Thank you for the question. How much research have you actually done?
Assuming you have the vocal and musical skills to audition in front of a Conductor – then what will increase your chances of being cast as "Wendy" is that you are the Wendy-type. You will instantly recognize all the candidates yourself come the day of the audition. From the moment you approach the audition panel and before you ever open your mouth – they will know if you fit the role or not.
You're either a "Wendy" or you're not. Simple. If you are, then you can sing most anything that falls under the Category marked: INGENUE
Consider any of the following:
It Might As Well Be Spring – STATE FAIR
They Say It’s Wonderful – ANNIE GET YOUR GUN
I Could Be Happy With You – THE BOY FRIEND
Go prepared to sing and read all of her material.
