Hello. My local theatre is putting on WoO. It is a youth production  and I barely mean the requirements in age  because Im turning 15. I am  a built 5'6''  with  brown hair and brown eyes. I am a belter/mezzo sopranoIalthough I'm not overly confident with my head voice. want to be Dorothy or Glinda , but I take anything. I'm sorta shy during auditions and this audition's going to be held in front of everybody else auditioning. I'm trying to find a 16-32 bar song that amazes the judges,  but doesn't come off as creepy or show-off- ish to my fellow peers. Last year I sung Til I hear you sing from ALW Love never Die, and I want to show the directors that I'm better than that.

Your job at this audition is to prove your ability to sing the music of the composer, Harold Arlen, no matter your vital statistics. Moreover, this is a show we all know.

Harold Arlen wrote for performers with an extraordinary need to be in front of a live audience or on a soundstage at MGM Studios. No room for shyness here. You've got less than 45 seconds to prove yourself in front of the audition panel. Go prepared like you were going to audition for American Idol.

As a vocal coach, I work primarily with singers and actors throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. My students range from absolute beginners to working professionals, from kids to senior citizens. The vast majority of my clients come to me through recommendation. I know how to identify any singer's vocal category, i.e., soprano, tenor, alto, baritone, etc. I know how to muscle-up every singer's vocal range and to expand it beyond conventional definitions. I have developed a vocal methodology for those who want to know how to belt, THE BELTER'S METHOD. There are a number of major components to my work as a vocal coach. The first is to identify the client's vocal category and to strengthen and maximize the vocal range accordingly. Then it's about teaching a reliable vocal workout that will enable the client to gain better control of their musicianship. That includes scale work to expand the vocal range and to improve placement, breath control, and diction. Then we work on material for the audition portfolio, the immediate job or assignment, a recording session, etc. My task to is to better equip singers and actors who are hoping to or relying upon their performance skills and vocal endurance to maintain a career in the Performing Arts.
