Acting in Plays, Singing/Finding a Specific Character...

Question
Hi, Mr. Aney.
I have kind of a strange question...For a school project, I need to find a very specific type of character. What shows do you know of that involve a character(preferably female) that is unsatisfied (with their relationship, career, etc.) because they have simply settled for less? Again, I know this question is odd, but any help you can give would be appreciated. Thank you.

Answer
Well, there are a lot of women I could think of.  Some would say Stella Kowalski settled for less (in Streetcar Named Desire) but she doesn't seem unsatisfied.

Look at some of the plays by Wendy Wasserstein or Caryl Churchill.  Look at Heidi Chronicles by Wendy Wasserstein.  Eventually Heidi comes to find peace in her life, but she spends most of the play dissatisfied.

Good luck!
