Acting in Plays, Singing/Into the Woods Monologue

Question
Daryl,
A community theatre in my town is doing Into the Woods. They're looking for an adult to play Little Red Riding Hood, but I'd like to audition (I'm fourteen). I figure I have nothing to lose. Anyway, I'm looking for a monologue that will fit her personality. What would you suggest? Just so you know: please no Shakespeare.

Thank you,
Louise

Answer
Louise,
When it comes to choosing a monologue, theres not much help I can give you as I have no idea what would best suite your voice, the producers needs and the characteristics of the person in question, having said that I would suggest anything you know well, be it from a book you enjoyed, or a script you know well... anything along the lines of that should be fine... Best of luck!
Daryl
