Acting in Plays, Singing/auditions

Question
I'm auditioning my school musical (Oklahoma) on Tuesday. I have really hyped myself up for this, and I'm pretty much obsessed with getting in. There are several things going against me, how ever, and I really don't have much of a chance. I'm still going to go in with confidence, and try as hard as I can, but I really am very nervous because this is so important to me. I've never wanted a part more. So, if you having any advice on calming down before/during the audition I would appreciate it, along with any special thing I can do that would leave a positive impression with the directors (note that I've done two plays with them already and they know me quite well). Also, if you have any advice on calming/resting my voice the day of auditions, it would be appreciated. ALSO, anything to make a letdown easier would be nice. I've worked myself up so high, and it's scary knowing I don't have much chance. It's going to be bad if/when I don't get in, and I'm scared for that.

Thanks a ton.

Answer
Hello Alana!
I do happen to know a few things from which you could maybe benifit from although they may not work. First of all when you go into an audition it is very improtant that you dont higher your auditioners expectations of you. For example: Director: Hello have you performed in any recent shows?
Person: Oh yes i was fantastic and my voice was outstanding!
Director: (To himself) Well shes going to be brilliant!

This is what some people do in this situation and even if you are very good you may still stand a chance of not meeting the expctations you set so do try and act casual and normal.
Also if you are rejected... which im sure you wont be, just take it as a no. DONT beg the director, this is the worse thing you can do as he or she will think you annoying and you stand less of a chance in later productions. If there is anything else I can help you with please write! Likewise if this does not help please tell me!!!

Thanks a lot and very good luck to you!!!
