Question
hi! i need help finding female duets from a braodway musical that i can sing along with my partner in our musical theater class.

Answer
Hello Kathy!

Female duets, eh? Well there are many I could suggest! Are you looking for a belting song, comedic, etc.? Some great alto/mezzo duets are I Still Believe from Miss Saigon, In His Eyes from Jekyll and Hyde and Take me For What I am from Rent. These songs are great for a belter. Stepsister's Lament from Cinderella is a comedic duet and very fun to act out. Some other songs that I highly suggest you check out are:

If Mama Was Married ~ Gypsy

Marry the Man Today ~ Guys and Dolls

What Did I Ever See In Him? ~ Bye Bye, Birdie

I Know Him So Well ~ Chess

Class ~ Chicago

A Boy Like That/ I Have a Love ~ West Side Story

I hope these come in handy. Good Luck!

Expertise

Hello there! As a local actor in theatre/musical theater, and having a deep admiration for the art, I can answer questions about techniques for: getting into character (physical and emotional), memorizing your lines, creating a character through your song (musical theater), and some audition techniques that may come very handy in the future. Also, if you need help picking out an audition monologue/song or anything of that nature, I would love to give you feedback and critique. If I cannot answer a question as fully as you hoped, I will try my best to refer you somewhere that can! =)

Experience

I participate in local theater and have done many shows, some of which include Our Town, Jekyll and Hyde, Les Miserables, Secret Garden, The Hobbit, and Two Gentlemen of Verona. I've also studied at the American Conservatory Theater's Young Conservatory in San Fransisco.
