Question
my daughters boyfriend is the lead in the theatrical fable "the love of three oranges" in Our local community theater.
He has been living with us from out of state since they both graduated from college with degrees in performing arts.
( about 3 months ) my question is.....on opening night do I bring a gift for him?
My first instinct is flowers.....is that appropriate for a man?
He has no family or friends other than us locally.
thanks for any opinion on the subject

Answer
Flowers are perfectly OK.  If he's graduated from college, he's mature enough to know that flowers are the traditional opening night gift.

And, of course, there is always candy or cookies.  Something that can be shared backstage is usually appreciated.
