Question
What exactly does Bill Murray whisper into Scarlett Johansson's ear in their last scene together in that film?

Answer
That last whisper is somewhat of a mystery. It is barely audible when you watch the film. Upon first viewing, it cannot be made out. In a interview with Bill Murray he was asked, "Your character whispers something to Scarlett in a crucial scene. Can we know what was said?" He answered, "You never will."

There are reports that he said, "I love you" and "I'm coming right back", but I haven't been able to confirm this. I chalk it up to Safia Coppola's filmmaking. She gave the character's a moment of privacy the audience is not privy to.

Sorry this is not definitive.
