Action Adventure Movies - Name of "Spy" type movie!!!

Question
I will attempt to describe a movie, and if you could provide a title, it would be greatly appreciated.  We have been trying to find out the answer for a month now, at work!  For some reason I want to say it was a spy type movie, something Tom Clancy would have written...

I saw a movie a few years ago where a portion of the plot surrounded a conference room where a woman had been murdered/strangled.  One gentleman walked into the room, and had left the woman perfectly fine, after some, well, rough sex activity, like being choked etc...  However, another man entered sometime later and actually killed her, and left her there.  The catch was though that the whole second man encounter was edited from the security camera video clip, which allowed one to believe the first man committed the crime.  The only way it was proven the second man existed was the fact that they forgot to remove the shadow from the wall while editing the video.  Any ideas?!!!!  Thanks in advance...-Ed

Answer
Hi Edward. Thanks for the question.

I'm happy to say that your month long search is over. The movie you are looking for is called, "Rising Sun". The 1993 film from director Philip Kaufman, starred Sean Connery and Wesley Snipes. Thanks for the detailed plot description. It made my job very easy. You were also right that this could have been something Tom Clancy would have written. The film was, in fact, based on a Michael Crichton book of the same name.

The plot centers around the offices of a Japanese corporation, during a party, a woman, who's evidently a professional mistress, is found dead, apparently after some rough sex. A police detective, Web Smith is called in to investigate but before getting there, he gets a call from someone who instructs him to pick up John Connor, a former police Captain and expert on Japanese affairs. When they arrive there Web thinks that everything is obvious but Connor tells him that there's a lot more going on. Connor discovers that the woman was kept by Eddie Sakamura, the son of a man Connor knew in Japan. And while Web thinks that they should bring Eddie in, Eddie asks Connor for some time to prove his innocence. Connor gives it to him, cause he is beholden to Eddie's father. But when evidence shows that Eddie's the killer, Connor and Smith are in hot water with their superiors, and when they try to get Eddie, a high speed chase ensues with Eddie getting killed. But Connor still thinks that there is something funny going on, especially when he discovers that the evidence they were given is false.

Thanks again, Ed. I hope I was of some help.
