AboutBarry Expertise Basically, I am here for the James Bond films. That`s what I know and what I know best. I know other films, but if you have a James Bond question, I would be excited and happy to help you. Same goes if you have a general action movie question.

Question QUESTION: Where can I find the ORIGINAL instrumental track of the theme song? The one in the movie, especially when Connery and Hama went out on the boat at sunrise, is beautiful, but I bought a collection of Bond instrumentals and was very disappointed. The original soundtrack has the vocal version, but apparently not the instrumental one. I know they marketed it in some form; many years ago, I heard the song on an "easy listening" radio station, and didn't realize it was from a Bond movie until last year when I saw the film. If you cannot point me to a specific CD, can you at least tell me what orchestra did the original?
ANSWER: Hi Charles,
The original score was done by the film's composer, John Barry, and the track you are looking for is on the original soundtrack to the film. It's called "Mountain And Sunsets". It should be available where CD's are sold, or can be easily ordered if not. Thanks for writing me back so I could help you!.

QUESTION: Barry,
I want to (finally) thank you for your answer. I bought the original soundtrack CD, and track #7 on the CD did have the music to the scene I referred to. However, because it has an interval of menacing, dramatic non-theme music in the middle (from about 55 seconds to 1:35 minutes in the track), I doubt that it was used as the instrumental on "beautiful music" stations. I've done searches with the Living Strings, the 101 Strings, etc, but can't find it. Perhaps John Barry made a version for such use. Any suggestions on how to find it?
Thanks,
Charles
Answer Hi Charles,
You are welcome. As for your new question, I have come up blank, sorry. I even e-mailed some people at James Bond sites and got nothing. I will continue to search and will hopefully come across something. Thanks for writing.
