I, too, was searching for "You Only Live Twice" as heard on beautiful music stations in the 1970s.  I finally found it.  It was Mantovani.  He did a breathtaking version that I've never forgotten, and it sent chills up my spine when I heard the sample on Mog.com.  Amazon has the CD, "Mantovani At The Movies."  I hope you get this note, or that you have already found what you were searching for.
