Question Ok, here's the senario...The character in the movie is in jail. He is told that he can have one phone call and the guard has to dial the number. He walkes out of the cell, to his right and the phone is on the wall to the left. It is a black box phone with no buttons and the handset is on the receiver on top of the box. The character hangs up on the people that the guard had called, then taps the receiver in order to get the operater. From there the operater connects him to another person as requested.
This is a scene that we have been arguing over for a while, do you know what movie this scene is in?
Thank you
Answer The first scene that comes to mind is from "Manhunter" with Brian Cox as Hannibal Lecter. It was later remade as "Red Dragon" with Anthony Hopkins.
He is given a phone with no numbers. The guard connects him to his lawyer and when the Lawyer answers, he hangs up, pulls the top off the phone and connects the two wires to get the operator and asks to be connected to the police station where obtains the Detective's home address.
If this is not the scene, please let me know as this may have happened in quite a few movies.
