I went to see a movie in either 2001 or 2002 but cannot remeber the title.

It was set over in Europe back before their were motorized vehicles.  There was a beast believed to be killing people within this village.  They village heads hired a man to investigate from outside their community.  It turns out that the village heads were behind the killings having this so called beast kill who they wanted.  The beast turned out to be either a lion or tiger wearing a iron mask.  It was kept in the hills in a dongonous cage.

Does this spark your memory?  I have not been able to see it in blockbuster.

This does not exactly spark my memory, but I think I am very close to finding it with my magical searching powers...lol...do you happen to know anyone who was in this movie, or even if you recall another movie that someone in this movie was in, or maybe what country this movie was from...was it made in 2001 or 2002 or had it been out a while before you saw it?  ANYTHING you can think of can help me help you....lol
