My system: Dell, 1 gig with 256 ram, 40 gig H/D, Santa Cruse audio card, Nvidia 32 vidio card, and Win98SE.
Problem: After I have installed cetain games (ie; Dirt Track, Midtown Madness) I get the black screen that says "Sensaura 3rd posistion audio." The screen is frozen. I do a ctrl/alt/del and I get an error message that states "HRESULT Error at DsounEnumerate Callback. Set CooperativeLevel 80004005."
I have been to the game sites, done the patches, and read all the help menu. Perhaps if you could explain what you think this means, it will give me some more insight as to what I can try next.
Yes, I have all my cards up dated.
Yes, I have run SFC and regscan. (No problems found)

Answer In the game's options try disabling A3D, EAX, or any extraneous sound options, and if possible all sound.
This seems to be a sound card issue. It may be correctable by updated drivers, but you said you've updated all of your drivers.
