Question
Hi,

I'd like to host Ghost Recon with some buddies over the internet. How do I run a computer game with my pc serving as the host from which other computers will log in for playing?

Ghost Recon is the main game at present. If there's a general concept that I can apply towards setting up games to run w/ friends over WAN or LAN, that would help too.

Thanks!

Sean

Answer
Hi,

Over the internet; Statr the fastest computer as the server (settings are in the multiplayer setup) whomever has the best connection (least ping times and highest throughput)should set up as the server. Then "ping" his connection to find his web address if it is a dynamic address, if it is a static IP then just let everyone know what it is (you plug this into the multiplayer "setup boxes") then everyone else just joins that game...

Pretty much the same for a LAN, you don't need the IP addresses though (usually) I have a small lan at home and get to kill the kids all the time with out requsite jail time of course...

Good luck,     Oh and there are a few web sites that have lots of information on this subject...www.futuremark.com  is a pretty good one

Dennis
