Question
i play counter strikes:source(hl2 engine),my fps sux, wondering what the problem might be,i have a asus p4s800 mobo,2.8 intel cpu,512 ddr 3200 ram, geforce 5600 256 mb vid card,250 watt compusa power supply,i run 3 hd's,1 dvd rom,pci sat card,tv tuner card, sound card, network card.what should i try to improve my fps which is anywhere from 16 on aztec in water to 120 if i look at walls,or simple custom maps, many peeps say they get good fps with lesser vid cards, any suggestions?

Answer
The problem is a direct function of your video card. sadly that card looked like it would be a great performer from the advertisment but it does not perform well with DX9 games, if you don't have the money to upgrade try turning off some of the "eye candy" in the settings tab and see if that helps. a friend of mone has that card and is VERY disapointed with it.

Sorry to bring bad news, the rest of your machine should fair very well if you upgrade to one of the ATI 9600xt or better cards, my youngest has an "older" 9700 pro 128 meg card that does very well at this game or the Geforce 6600 or better card will be a great upgrade in performance.
