Question
i play counter strikes:source(hl2 engine),my fps sux, wondering what the problem might be,i have a asus p4s800 mobo,2.8 intel cpu,512 ddr 3200 ram, geforce 5600 256 mb vid card,250 watt compusa power supply,i run 3 hd's,1 dvd rom,pci sat card,tv tuner card, sound card, network card.what should i try to improve my fps which is anywhere from 16 on aztec in water to 120 if i look at walls,or simple custom maps, many peeps say they get good fps with lesser vid cards, any suggestions?

Answer
The first thing you should check for is whether all of your drivers are up to date. You shoudl do this for your video card and your BIOS for your mothrboard. You can find this on their respective websites.

If all of your dirvers are up to date I would recommend getting at least a gigabyte of RAM. That will help when dealing with complex textures.
