Question
Do you think that when children play on action games it
influences children to become violent towards others?

Answer
No I really don't. Anecdotally, I have been playing games for most of my life, and I've never been one to start fights. I avoid them if at all possible.

There have been a string of cases where minors have blamed their crimes on games such as grand theft auto. Frankly, I feel this is a load of crap.

There have also been numerous studies of imitation and observer-based learning in children. It's been found that children are much more likely to imitate behavior seen in real life versus what they see on TV. This effect is dramatically decreased (less imitating on the part of the child) if what is shown on TV is animated (like a video game).

For me it really comes down to this, it's the parents' responsibility to ensure that their child has a good moral compass and understands the difference between video games and real life. If a parent cannot instill these values into their children, then they are failing society and their children.
