Question
hello,
I hope your familiar with half life & Doom. I got my son a new graphics card (Geforce 6800 OC ) for xmas. I got half Life 2 with it. He had said if he got that he would want to play the original half Life games 1st. Would this be necessary or be of any advantage ? Also was thinking of getting Doom 3, would there be any need or advantages to play the older versions ? Also we have windows XP so older versions may not work anyway ?

Thanks,
Jerry

Answer
Hi,
Good call on the card you will not be unhappy with it. For half life2 It comes with half life 1 ON the DVD, not sure about the other "versions" but it is not nessecary to play it first, but they are a lot of fun! same goes for Doom3 as they both stand on  their own as great games. Win XP will play Doom 95 and you can copy the .wad files into that version if you want to play the older versions (they are lots of fun but will leave you wanting as far as the graphics go)

good luck and have fun!
