About David Oldfield
Expertise
I can answer all questions related to Client / Server or COM application development with Visual Basic or JAVA. I can usually answer the questions about Visual C++ development of the same, however, I avoid them, as they are quite time consuming, and usually developers who use C++ know what they are doing.

Subject: to develop mail component using VB for web

Question
Hi David,

I want to develop a mail component for ASPs that would be complaint with Winx and also with Winnt using ActiveX.Please guide me how should I proceed or whether or not this is possible.I must also inform you that there is no WinNT server here plus that mail should be send directly from the web, meaning that the mail should be typed in the web page like I am doing right now and no default application like outlook should be used.

Thanking you in advance.
Kashif

This mail server has built in API dll, and documentation...

it is tricky to use... but you can use VB to create interfaces to work with their email sever.

Doing so will enable you to manage all aspects of an email server:
POP / SMTP / IMAP
all accounting+etc.
