Answer
Being cast requires someone to take a bet that you will be right for the part. No-one can know for sure, so they are always taking a risk on you.
The only way to get cast in major centres like Hollywood is to have proved, by an impressive résumé, that other people have taken the same risk and been pleased.
Wherever you are now, you need to work at anything to put your talents in the eyes of people who can help you. Until you are the local star, there is little chance of moving into the big markets.
Work on the people you know. Get in touch with people you know about, and show that you are the answer to their needs. Don't just say you are -- find out what they need and show that you have done it, or trained for it, at least.
And be patient -- at eighteen you have not been trying for a long time yet.
