Subject: A legal agent in the Seattle/Tacoma area

Question
I read your answer about Tyler Briggs. I too was approached by this man and now know that he is a scam artist, but is there any real agents that you could recommend me to in the Seattle/Tacoma, WA area? Much appreciated.
26 year old young looking female

Answer
Here are the SAG and AFTRA franchised agents in WA.

"Franchised" means that they have agreed to behave ethically, but this does not mean that any one will be a good agent for you. Send your photo and résumé, with as good a cover letter as you can put together. Concentrate on what you have to bring to the table -- if you can play much younger, that is a definite advantage.

Follow up your letter in a week 'to be sure it arrived safely', and see what responses you get. If anyone says to be in touch later, do get in touch right after the deadline, talk about some new piece of news -- a new class, or your thoughts about an acting career book you've just read, or a piece of local acting business news.

Much luck in your search

Peter M
