Question
Hello! I am asking a question concerning my audition. I am 14 and I am a freshman, and this years winter production is "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum". I am not familiar with this musical, so I was asking advice on the type of monologue and song I should perform. Recommendations are more than welcome! I don't understand what genre to be presenting and I'd really appreciate it if you could help. Thanks!!

Answer
Hello,

First of all, you should get a copy of the musical. There are several versions out. Try netflix or blockbuster. This way you can become familiar with the musical. Then you can get an idea of what you need to do as far monologue and song. You should also see if the school will give you sheet music or a recording of the songs (so you can work on them) and a copy of a monologue from the show.

I hope this helps.

PS.Your song and monologue must be a comedy, farce to be exact.
