Question
I've been cast as the Lead to the fall play, "Curtain going up." my director told me today after the cast list went up, that my character is only powerful through patience...how should i go about keeping that objective?

Answer
Read the play quickly, just for the shape.
Read it again, paying special attention to your character.
This may result in the note making sense.
If not, go to talk to the director.

Directors try to give you your personal key to opening the character. This one has failed, it seems, but if you show up with some ideas about the character, you should be able to get another set of cues.

Luck with the casting
