Question
I am a collage student, and vice-president of or drama society. We are interested in doing a play set in the 1940's
(big band era) We would do south pacific, but we do not want to do a musical. Are there any drama or comedy type plays from that era that have a cast of around 11-17?

Thanks

Answer
Your problem is that usually play listings do not talk about the setting of the play!

Nothing comes personally to mind, I'm afraid.

Samuel French, who have an enormous business in amateur rights, may be able to help you with more personal advice, but try their site first:

Congratulations on doing your difficult job. I believe that in many ways college societies like yours are more useful to the business than formal theatre courses!
