Acupuncture/Pale, clay colored stools

Question
Hello,

About a month and a half ago I have a couple days of pale, clay colored stools. Again today, I have them again.
Can you give me some insight why.

Thank you

Answer
Hi, Kristie,
I practice TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine).  In that system, pale stool that is yellow means empty-heat.  Empty heat is common to menopausal women.  Hot flashes and night sweats are common to empty heat.  There are lots of other empty heat signs.  There are many other things to look at beyond the stool the fully diagnose you.  In western medicine terms I think pale stool usually has something to do with the gallbladder. Sometimes medication or diet can change the color of stool. Find a TCM specialist in you area and have a consultation with them.
