Question
My partner has nueropathy brought on by chemotheraphy and traditional methods have not worked.  Would like to explore acupuncture here in the Twin Cities (Minnesota), but have not clue who we should start with and we have not medical input into this since his drs have no experience in patients of theirs undertaking acupuncture.

Thank you so much for your time and answer our question.

Peace for the New Year.

Answer
Hi Wayne,

Acupuncture can help with the neuropathy.  Acupuncture works by having very fine needles insert in locations of the body known as acupoints.  Depending on the severity or length of time the person has the condition, it may take from 3 visits to more.  In oriental medicine, pain is cause by stagnation of energy and blood flow.  Acupuncture will stimulate the flow, thereby, reducing the pain.  The insertion needles also stimulate the body to produce endorphin, chemical reducing pain.  Visit an acupuncturist in your local area and feel free to ask any question that you are concerned about.
