Acupuncture/Infertility and hypothyroid

Question
Hello. Thank you in advance for reviewing my
question. I am a 33 year old woman, been
trying to cnceive for over two years. Western
medicine tells me I have multiple small fibroids
and I might have endometriosis. I am also
hypothyroid and have been taking meds for
three years. I am seeing an accupuncurist now
and overall I am excited to see results. Have
only seen her three times so far though and
am being patient.

I have two main questions. The pain I
experience from what I think is the fibroids,
started a month after I started taking my
thyroid meds, which leads me to believe that
they are somehow related. My thyroid meds
have helped with my symptoms of depression
but I still was foggy and slow thinking. I am
worried that the meds will get in the way of my
accu treatments. Do you think they could mix
poorly? With poor results for me? And have
you ever seen anyone go off the meds?

My second question relates to one single
vertabrae that has felt bruised now for three
months or so. This correlates to a spleen point,
I was told. If a point feels tender or bruised,
does that signify anything about the state of
my health?

Thank you so much!

Answer
Hey Erika,

I have a thread that is private with a woman who was having fertility issues who has now conceived, I will ask her if she minds if we make it public.

In my opinion, western medicine excels at crisis care, but is not so strong on health care. Their answer seems to be treat the symptom not the root of the problem.

Check the side effects of your meds. Remeber it is your decision to take or not take something, as it is your body.

I have seen people go off of thyroid meds. Usually there is a nutritional defecit involved in thyroid issues. I would find a
Standard Process representative. Google standard process and find a Dr. that perscribes them. They are top notch, clean supplements that are sold only through Drs with a perscription. If you have trouble finding someone local, and you are in the states, I could ask Dr. Keppel our resident nutritionist to send you symptom survey form, and speak to you directly.

As far as that sore point, I think that will change with treatment.

If you are taking meds, I would just take them an hour away from any herbal medicine you are taking. Meds are strong and can upset the effects of the herbs. An hour away with the herbs in first is preferable.

Many times patients continue to take their meds while receiving treatment and then some decide to cease taking them as their symptoms clear.

Feel free to call upon me as you need, congratulations on taking steps to improve your health!
