Acupuncture - bad experience from acupunture

Expert: Prof. Dr. B.K. Singh - 4/29/2009

Question
I have had two sessions. 1st one worked beautifully, giving agility where I hadn't been able to move for several years.

My second session needles were placed in different locations than the 1st session. When session was completed the tech accidently left a needle atop my head. I didn't feel it and pulled shirt over head, which probably manipulated it somewhat. As I was scheduling another appt the tech noticed she'd left the needle on my head. She reached up and pulled. Also, 2 sites - right wrist and left ankle blead after needles were removed.

The treatment was not near as effective as 1st, but within a day numerous symptoms have arisen. I want to know if dizziness, nausea, fatigue, disorientation, migraines, have any correlation to the needles being left in too long or hit while inserted in top of head.

I loved 1st visit, but 2nd has left me feeling quite ill. Any feedback? Could a nerve been struck that caused all these symptoms?

Answer
I understand your anxiety and doubts about your last visit to an acupuncturist but I don't think that your present complaints have got anything to do with left over needles in your body. This is not uncommon in very busy acupuncture clinics. But this type of negligence is not good. Needles should be counted carefully before and after each treatment. Please visit to a acupuncturist for finding out that why you are having these problems, may be you have some pinched nerve in your cervical region. You need a good pulse diagnosis from an expert in your area.
