Acupuncture - Kidney Yin & Yang Deficiency ?

Expert: Heather Vandeburg - 6/1/2009

Question
I was told by my acup. that I had both and he said its very hard to cure.
I looked at my diet etc. and cut out all prescription drugs and animal food,
thinking that was a possible contrib.. factor to the imbalance.
do you have any suggestions for me.  I am also working on kidney stones
too.
thanks so much,
nell

Answer
Hi Nell,
He is right kidney yin and yang disease is very difficult to treat and takes a while.  Tai qi or Qi gong are great exercises to boost the kidney qi.  There are some great herbals.  Some specific to kidney stones. Make sure that you drink lots of water. There is a special detox that eliminates all kinds of stones. I would say you can't go wrong with Reishi (ling zhi) mushroom.  It is very supporting to the kidneys and liver, and overall health. Is your acupuncturist also an herbalist?  If so he can guide you with herbs.

Hope this helps.
