Acupuncture/Electric Stimulation

Question
Hi Scott,
I have talked to you prior.  My daughter (almost 8 years old) has been
receiving the "electrical stimulation" type acupuncture (no needles) for about
3 straight weeks now.  She has begun complaining of chest pain.  She
complained of it a little yesterday and worst today and this evening.  This is
quite concerning to me since she has not had that in the past.  Can the
electrical stimulation cause this type of problem?  She has been receiving
weekly treatments.  Thanks in advance.  I am very worried.

Answer
Hey Lisa,

Nice to talk to you again.
I never use electro-acupuncture, I'm not a fan although I understand many people use it to good effect.

If you are concerned, then stop the treatment and see if it makes a difference. See if she would be ok with thin needles.

If she is having chest pain, it never hurts to have an MD check her out, it would be the prudent thing to do.

Take care, and let me know how it turns out if you would.
