Question Hi there, I'm a 30 year old female living in Melbourne. I have an endometrioma in my left ovary, I have also had in in my right ovary. I am trying to get pregnant. Please tell me what acupuncture was used if you know this do remove Rosa's endometrioma? I do not want to do surgery. I am about to see a acupuncturist? Many thanks
Answer Hey Kate,
Endomitriosis falls under the heading of painful periods. In TCM we look at the symptoms to make a diagnosis and never rely on a western diagnosis to make our own.
So, that being said does endometrioma in the left ovary mean pain or actual tissue growth or both?
I'm guessing the surgery would be an ectomy for abnormal tissue.
There are many, many reasons for endometriosis, so I can't just give you a set of points.
Here is a list of the main possible reasons:
Liver and Kidney yin deficiency, (meaning that there is dryness in these organs)
qi, yang or blood deficiency, (lack of energy or blood)
damp heat (excessive dampness and heat)
stagnation and or stasis, (sluggish or no movement of qi and or blood)
The most important question is "why". Why is this arising, what is the imbalance, what mental, emotional, dietary, lifestyle habits brought this about? What do you need to do to keep this from happenning again, once you get some help and balance it out? If you cut something out, and haven't fixed the imbalance, what is most likely, that you are permenantly cured, or that the imbalance will somehow, somewhere arise and manifest again? Symptoms do not arise in a vacum, there is always a cause. If the cause is not being addressed you are filling in a pothole with foam at best.
I think you have a great chance of taking care of this with acupuncture and herbal medicine.

There are a ton of options in TCM, you can always have surgery later if you choose, but my guess is that you really won't need it.
I think you're on the right track, feel free to ask any more questions,
