I am wondering if you can help me answer this questions. I have been seeing a TCM practitioner from China for the last 7 months. I have been doing herbal teas with her to increase my chances of being able to carry a pregnancy to term.. I have lost 3 pregnancies thus far int he 1st trimester. I am now 7 weeks pregnant and very, very nauseus.. so much so that i can't even look at my chinese tea pot without gagging.. I simply can't do the teas at this point. I think I might need to switch to the pills. What do you think? I know the tea is optimal, but if I can't keep it down or if it is really making me miserable, I fele like the pills are the next best thing. I am also doing acucpuncture every other week b/c that is all I can afford. Thanks, Liora
Answer Hey Liora,
I think herbal pills are a great idea if you can't get the tea down.
Sometimes I cap herbs for patients that can't stand the taste.
The only issue is to make sure that the pills are high quality and tested for pesticides, metals and anything else you don't want in it.
Some Chinese herbal companies don't have high standards and some even mix western pharmaceuticals in with their formulas.
I like:
Bluelight-treasure of the East treasureofeast.com
Bluepoppy herbs bluepoppy.com
Mayway herbs mayway.com
and some Kan herbal products kanherb.com
These are all high quality and rigorously tested.
Ask where your practitioner gets their herbal pills and check out their site.
These companies sell only to practitioners, but the list gives you a good idea of
some quality companies.
Pill and tablet form are a great alternative to teas.
