Question
I had went to the acupuncture clinic for tyhe first time and they did cupping on my back. I now have 8 dark bruises on my back. Is this normal? And if so will this happen everytime? Thanks Anna

Answer
Hi Anna, Yes, something that looks like a bruise is typical to cupping.  It is really more like a hickey from the suction.  They should have talked to you about it.  The cupping marks generally go away in a week, sometimes longer it just depends on your circulation. It is very normal. And you should feel better after a few days.  They will probably show up again next time but be less dark each time, until the issue is resolved and then they don't show up at all.

Hope this helps,
