Question I received my second acupuncture treatment yesterday. I began seeing a chiropractor for treatment due to overwhelming anxiety associated with failed infertility treatments. Last night I experienced a dull pain in my lower back, approximately where my ovaries would be located. Is this a sign that acupuncture is working or should I be concerned? During treatments I felt very relaxed. By bed time I am energized and have experienced trouble sleeping. Is this normal for someone beginning treatment?
Answer Beth first of all fertility is a more complex thing to treat than pain. Make sure the chiropractor that is treating you has more than 150 hours of training. You should be in the hands of a Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioner. They are specialists and able to treat complicated issues. As long as your chiro is lisc I wouldn't worry. It is typical to feel the body react to acupuncture. You may feel many different sensations during and after treatment. It is typical to feel like you just woke from a nights sleep after acupuncture and., to feel energized. Let your chiro know that you are getting that symptom. A good practitioner will adjust your treatment to remedy the insomnia. I hope this helps
